What the stars ate this week

This week, Zed Zed, who is in Perth with Fann Wong and Christopher Lee, had his fill of seafood, Jeanette Aw loaded up on Greek cuisine, and Tay Ping Hui almost ate his weight in beef. Meanwhile, Rosalyn Lee literally drank 24K gold for her 40th birthday, and Yvonne Lim made her own Hokkien zhang with Fish Leong!

Jeanette Aw

What she ate: Greek cuisine, gelato and coffee

Yummy factor: Although Jeanette isn’t too fond of Greek food, she did find some dishes she liked whilst holidaying, such as stuffed tomatoes, pork gyros and moussaka. Of course, there’s no skipping gelato with whipped cream (homemade!). Also, no one says no to a yummy caffeine fix.

What she ate: A giant pot of tom yum boat noodles in Thailand

Yummy factor: Anyone else had a sudden craving for a bowl of tom yum noodles after seeing this XXL one complete with crab, meat balls and freshly cracked eggs? Even the director who was with Liping was speechless after taking a slurp of the noodles.

What they ate: Fried seafood platter

Yummy factor: Zed Zed was so hungry after his flight that he couldn't help but stab his fork into his fish fillet before Chris could help him cut it up. Their sumptuous post-flight lunch comprised fresh seafood like grilled prawns, fish fillets, scallops, fresh oysters, and more - lucky kiddo!

What she ate: Rice dumplings

Yummy factor: Aren’t homemade dumplings just the best? Yvonne made her own Hokkien-style ones in Taiwan with BFF, Mandopop singer Fish Leong, and we love how generous they are with the ingredients! Each one is chock full of glutinous rice, mushroom, chunks of pork belly and a whole salted egg yolk. Bring some back for us to try, Yvonne!

What she drank: Coffee topped with 24K gold at the Armani Cafe in Dubai

Yummy factor: Rosalyn’s in Dubai celebrating her 40th birthday and boy did she indulge - her cuppa costs 80AED (approx. S$40) and comes topped with 24K gold. However, according to Rozz, the gold tastes like nothing and the the coffee was "substandard". And in case you are wondering, she did not sh*t gold.

Joanne Peh

What she ate: Sichuan chilli chicken

Yummy factor: Joanne starred in hubby Qi Yuwu’s food vlog of the week, which captured her struggling to eat a fiery plate of Sichuan chilli chicken, or la zi ji, which came with a mountain of dried chillies and chopped chives. But it must have been delicious though -- despite her tearing eyes and reddened face, Joanne couldn’t help but reach out for more.

What they ate: Fried noodles during a live cooking battle at Singapore Expo last weekend

Yummy factor: While Hong Ling didn’t seem too impressed with her partner Joel Choo’s culinary skills, the noodles he fried with broccoli florets, sliced mushrooms and more turned out pretty legit.

What she ate: Edible “tape” and old school sweets

Yummy factor: Would you eat “tape”? That's what Kelly did in a South Korea cafe and it looks like an unfurled plastic straw of sorts. To be honest, the old school sweets she found look way more tempting.

What she ate: Ramly burger

Yummy factor: Michelle visited the Geylang Serai bazaar with Papa Chong and got themselves lots of fancy snacks like truffle beef cubes, river prawns and lobsters drizzled with mentaiko mayo. However, there’s no denying her from the classic ramly burger, even if it meant that she had to patiently wait in line for hers!
