Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu

What they ate: Qi Yuwu’s birthday cake in Tokyo

Yummy factor: “Searching for a cake and candles in an unfamiliar country turned out to be quite an adventure,” Joanne wrote. In the end they managed to pull a simple and sweet celebration together just fine. Happy birthday, Yuwu!

Rebecca Lim

What she ate: Kueh, fruit skewers and other local delicacies in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Yummy factor: If we got to dig into an afternoon tea as exquisite as this in such a beautiful setting, we’d be grinning from ear to ear too.

Hong Ling

What she ate: Ice cream, ice cream, and more ice cream in Kyoto

Yummy factor: Three ice creams (one of them gold, no less) in less than 24 hours seems pretty extreme, but way to go for it Hong Ling.

What they ate: Coffee, soup and light bites before their flight to Taiwan

Yummy factor: The spread may not look that appetising but the couple’s excitement at embarking on their first overseas work trip “honeymoon” is adorbs.

Chua Enlai

What he ate: Unlimited servings of BBQ meats including steak, sausages, lamb chops, and lobster at Pan Pacific Singapore to celebrate his birthday

Yummy factor: This would make even vegetarians regret giving up meat. After devouring such a meatfest, we’re sure Enlai enjoyed a very happy “burpday” indeed.

What she ate: Tons and tons of super fresh seafood in Seoul

Yummy factor: Get a load of that ginormous crab. Kimberly and Shane Pow really went all out on the street market grub, but isn’t that the whole point of visiting Seoul?

Ya Hui

What she ate: Mee sua with boiled greens and chilli padi

Yummy factor: That slurp can be heard all the way from here. Although the mee sua looks rather bland, Ya Hui deemed it “shiok” so we’ll take her word for it.

What he ate: Punggol nasi lemak ta pau

What he ate: Fu yong omelette in Yogyakarta

Yummy factor: Jia Fa said this humble omelette stuffed with chicken, cabbage and carrots was the best thing he ate in Yogyakarta. Can you believe it contains no flour? That’s 100% egg crisp.

Jade Seah

What she ate: Turkish eggs at Fink’s Salt & Sweet in London

Yummy factor: For someone who ducked into a small café to escape the cold, Jade couldn’t have picked a more warming bowl of comfort food. The combination of sourdough and garlicky, chilli-infused poached eggs is incredible.

What he ate: Mao shan wang durian with The Flying Dutchman

Yummy factor: This could be a promo poster for “Durian Date with Bros Night.” And duh it’s mao shan wang because if celebs indulge, it might as well be on premium durian calories.

What she ate: Cake with Hayley Woo

Yummy factor: This is not a look we would expect from someone who is about to dig into dessert. Maybe Carrie is on a diet.

Ann Kok

What she ate: Pork floss sandwich in Taiwan

Yummy factor: Fried egg and pork floss sandwiched between two slices of fluffy bread - it sounds simple but we'd travel to Taiwan just for these babies.

Charlyn Lin

What she ate: Her son’s birthday cake

Yummy factor: Parents, if you can’t pull together an over-the-top cake for your mini-me, remember that toys make fabulous cake deco (cue the army figurines and fence). Got a drawer full of takeaway chopsticks? Bust ‘em out for a DIY cake banner. Pinterest it if you don’t know! The kid wouldn’t even guess he got served a basic bundt cake.
