What the stars ate this week

This week, Joanne Peh had a matcha-ful time in Taiwan; Jeanette Aw polished off the biggest sandwich she's ever had; Denise Camillia Tan enjoyed a decadent meal with Chen Xiuhuan; Rosalyn Lee cooked a hearty lunch for Kimberly Wang, and Apple Hong tried her hand at pumping out fancy wine out of an imperial bottle. Envious!

Denise Camillia Tan and Chen Xiuhuan

What she ate: Decadent lunch that included caviar and uni

Yummy factor: Both ladies headed out for a Japanese lunch that featured mouthwatering fusion eats like truffle angel hair, mothwatering oysters, caviar and uni served on a spoon-like dish -- what a glorious mouthful it must have been!

What she ate: Ipoh curry mee

Yummy factor: Fann, who was filming in Tronoh, Malaysia, got her hands on the "must-eat" Ipoh-style curry mee. We like how it came with lots of plump bean sprouts for added crunch, as well as chopped-up carrots and cabbage. And like her hubby Christopher Lee, we too wished she could da bao it back for us.

Apple Hong

What she ate: Michelin-starred dinner

Yummy factor: Six years later, Apple is still as impressed with the abalone and fresh steamed fish with a dash of soya sauce at Taiwanese resto, Tainan Tan Tsu Mien Seafood. And for the very first time, she got to "pump out" her wine - Chateau Latour 1989 & Domaine Dujac 2002 - from a 6-litre bottle!

What they ate: Boba bread and butter pudding from Neo Garden Catering's Christmas menu

Yummy factor: Some bubble tea mashups are just bizarre (looking at you BBT hotpot), but this we wanna try. The brown sugar boba + milk tea sauce + bread and butter pudding sound like a match made in dessert heaven.

What she ate: Suckling pig birthday cake

Yummy factor: Joanna had an early birthday celebration with her family, and her cheeky loved ones continued with tradition and got her a roasted suckling pig as a birthday cake. Safe to say, they probably had a crunchin’ good time!

Jeanette Aw

What she ate: Club sandwich

Yummy factor: Jeanette had the biggest sandwich ever in her life, and she actually managed to finish it all. To be honest, we’re surprised as well -- check out the substantial stack of ham, lettuce and tomatoes sandwiched between toasted bread!

What she ate: Jivara Milk Chocolate Pear William and Caramel Nut Log Cake from Pan Pacific hotel

Yummy factor: Check out Jean’s log cake - inspired by Snickers bars, the multi-layered treat probably tastes as decadent as it looks. And if there’s anyone who can remain stunning whilst stuffing herself with cake, it’s probably Jean.

What she ate: Boiled bananas

Yummy factor: Kate had boiled bananas for the very first time and found the taste to be really special, even though it didn’t look the most appetising! We're tempted to try this for ourselves this weekend.

What she ate: All things matcha

Yummy factor: For Joanne, the combination of matcha latte bubble tea and matcha egg waffle from Taipei Eslite Songyan Store was a matcha made in heaven. Geddit?

What they ate: Fried chicken skin

Yummy factor: The Muttons tempted their followers with ASMR-style snaps of them trying out KFC's brand-new fried chicken skin snack -- anyone couldn’t help but head down to the nearest outlet after hearing Vernon A munching on the sinful treat?

Hazelle Teo

What she ate: Dim sum and lots of crabs

Yummy factor: Hazelle's foodie road trip to Johor Bahru was a fruitful one alright - aside from some dim sum fare and juicy xiao long bao, the salted egg and chilli crab (check out that meaty pincer!) dishes she got were so flavourful, fresh and sweet that she couldn't stop gushing about the dish after.

What she ate: Homecooked risotto

Yummy factor: So Rosalyn Lee made mushroom risotto for Kimberly, who dropped by her place for lunch and despite it containing celery and onions, which Kim isn’t a fan of, it sure looks like she enjoyed her home-cooked meal!

Huang Biren

What she ate: Hairy crabs

Yummy factor: Biren mused that one should have a gender in mind when feasting on crabs (like her). Well, if both choices are in the mix, why not savour them all?

Edwin Goh

What he ate: Loads of coriander

Yummy factor: Ugh, we threw up a little in our mouths when we saw Edwin’s choice of condiments for his hotpot meal. Maybe he should consider going for coriander hotpot instead?

Yummy factor: For his mum’s first meal in Los Angeles, Nat rose to the occasion and whipped up a fab homemade meal comprising juicy beef steaks, mashed potatoes and broccoli -- yums!

What she ate: Coconut ice cream with sticky rice

Yummy factor: No meal is complete without dessert, and Michelle had an Insta-worthy one at Soi Thai Soi Nice after her mookata lunch -- think a generous scoop of coconut ice cream, sprinkled with golden cornflakes and rice crispies, served alongside a warm bed of dyed sticky rice... Sounds like Thai food heaven.

Oon Shu An

What she ate: Satay goreng

Yummy factor: We can’t help but ogle at Shu An’s box of fried satay from Satay Ummi. The juicy meat chunks (she said there were at least 10 sticks of satay in there) also came with a tub of peanut sauce, as well as sliced ketupat and onions.

What she ate: Shack Stack burger at Shake Shack

Yummy factor: Did you manage to spot Ah Jie at Jewel Airport’s Shake Shack? We’re pretty sure her million-dollar smile and overloaded tray of beef burgers and cheese fries were hard to miss!

What they ate: Omakase lunch

Yummy factor: The lovebirds managed to squeeze some time out to have a leisurely omakase lunch together, and Nick is definitely enjoying his fave otoro sushi - he finished his in one bite!

Chen Xiuhuan

What she ate: Crabs

Yummy factor: Xiuhuan indulged in a whole platter of juicy hairy crabs, and promptly declared that she’s partial towards the male’s roe -- probably because it tastes creamier and buttery?
