What the stars ate this week

The foodie lineup this week gave us plenty to drool over, from Zoe Tay's cotton candy drinks and Li Nanxing's freshly cooked pepper crabs, to Richie Koh's deconstructed feast. On the birthday front, we saw Chen Xiu Huan bestowed with loads of love and cakes from celebrity friends. Meanwhile, Jeanette Aw surprised Julie Tan with a belated birthday treat in Bangkok.

What they ate: Julie's belated birthday cake

Yummy factor: Julie flew to Bangkok to surprise her jie jie Jeanette - but Jeanette ended up surprising Julie with a belated birthday cake (or ice cream). Aww... the sisterhood love is real.

Chen Xiu Huan

What she ate: Several birthday cakes and dinners with former actress friends as well as Dawn Yeoh and Sora Ma, to celebrate turning 53

Yummy factor: Well someone must have felt ultra special, surrounded by so many friends and sweets. Xiu Huan's certainly not short on loved ones, so we wonder what else she wished for!

Li Nanxing

What he ate: Chef Li Nanxing was cooking pepper crabs

Yummy factor: BRB, wiping the drool off our keyboards. Can you blame us when we're taunted by a whole wok of pepper crabs? Just imagine how amazing the sauce smells.

What she drank: Tea

Yummy factor: If this tea is the secret to Fann's amazing glowing skin, we'll take a cup or ten.

Richie Koh

Richie Koh

What he ate: An ample spread of meat and vegetables on a wood paddle board (just kidding, a cutting board)

Yummy factor: "Life is full of ups and downs. It is all about getting fat and losing weight. We lose weight so that we can eat, and we eat so that we can lose weight to eat and gain weight again," Richie wrote. There you have it, a philosophical definition of yo-yo dieting.

Lina Ng

What she ate: Lina was caught eating prata like a sandwich on the set of Lion Moms 3

Yummy factor: Nural Aini was laughing at Lina's, er, innovative way of eating prata "in style." For real, how many years has she lived in Singapore? Jokes aside, now we're dying to try it Lina-style too.

What they ate: A family meal at Mahota Singapore with their kiddos Aden and Avery

Yummy factor: Looks like the food was so good, Avery went straight at it with her hand. Forget the parents with their cutlery.

Lim Peifen

What she ate: "Stairway to Heaven" tea set at Nesuto Patisserie

Yummy factor: "Every step was delicious," Peifen wrote. It's nice that the sinful pastries, scones and treats are balanced with a couple of mini salad bowls. If you must indulge, do so with some greens.

What he ate: A chicken wing

Yummy factor: "If you look up 'sexy' in the dictionary this is the picture that will pop up," Noah wrote. We looked it up and this most certainly did not pop up. Whew.

What she ate: My Little Pony-themed meal at My Little Pony x Kumoya Singapore

Yummy factor: Basically our childhood dream come true. Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle peering out from a cuppa? As if we needed another reason to love coffee more.

What they ate: Japanese cuisine for their "bros' lunch"

Yummy factor: We wonder what news these bros were catching up on over yummy sashimi, tempura and Japanese goodies. Joshua sure looked giddy to be there.

What she ate: Tartines

Yummy factor: Open-faced sandwiches are underrated. They're easier to compile (no need to worry about the top slice of bread slipping off), have less carbs, and make prettier flat lays (if you're into that sort of thing). The avocado-to-bread ratio here is a bit off, but what's one to do when avocados cost an arm and a leg in Singapore?

Michelle Chia

What she ate: Michelle enjoyed some pickled tangerines (as a drink, mixed with water), picked right from this beautiful orchard.

Yummy factor: Apparently it was super sweet, with 1 kg of tangerines mixed with 1 kg of sugar. Guess you could make buckets of tangerine tea from this haul.

What he drank: Highball at the Jim Beam Highball pop-up bar

Yummy factor: Bartender Nick, dat you? He mixed his own drink at the event and it looked like some refreshing citrus concoction.

What she ate: Cakes and matcha latte on a Wednesday

Yummy factor: Three cheers for Wednesday dessert dates. The chocolate cake looks potently rich, and probably paired perfectly with Julie's iced matcha latte.

Apple Hong

What she ate: Dinner at Meta Restaurant to celebrate her one-year marriage anniversary

Yummy factor: "Perfect 10/10!" Apple wrote. Barbecue pigeon with carrot miso and beetroot with raspberry sorbet sound like the fancy unconventional fare expected in a celeb's anniversary dinner.

Ya Hui

Ya Hui

What she drank: Coffee in Ubud

Yummy factor: Ya Hui wrote that Ubud "ignited" her love for coffee. For an instant we thought she meant luwak coffee, until she clarified that it was a cappuccino.

Zoe Tay

What she ate: Bandung and Milo drinks and cotton candy at The Lobby Lounge by Shangri-La Hotel

Yummy factor: The bandung cotton candy cloud was already melting, but it looks like Zoe was more than pleased with her sweet drinks - sugar crash be damned.

What they ate: Burgers, fries, steak and waffles at TWG Tea Garden at Marina Bay Sands

Yummy factor: Little Azalea looks enamoured with her waffles. Question is, did she eat all the berries too, or pass them to her parents?
