What the stars ate this week

This week, we saw celebrities indulging in a wide range of mouthwatering food: Fann Wong, Christopher and Zed Lee had yakiniku, Rui En and her Hello From The Other Side co-stars dug in to packed lunch on set, and Tay Ping Hui reminisced about eating his favourite White Rabbit candy. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Xu celebrated his birthday with his fan club and Carrie Wong treated herself to a tall glass of creamy macchiato.

Tay Ping Hui

What he ate: His favourite White Rabbit candy

Yummy factor: Ping Hui said he used to tear out the translucent paper so that he can feel it melt in his mouth. Not the easiest to peel off, but definitely the best way to savour the milky sweet!

What he ate: Lunch on the set of Hello From The Other Side with co-stars Shaun Chen, Brandon Wong, Rui En and Henry Heng

Yummy factor: “Finding joy in misery,” wrote Tianwen. We can relate. There’s nothing like a group of fun colleagues and comforting hawker food to get you excited for a long day at work.

What she ate: Burger and milkshake from Shake Shack for breakfast in London

Yummy factor: Overstuffed burgers – hope Eleanor got the original ShackBurger - paired with a creamy shake taste even better when eaten for breakfast. True story.

Yasminne Cheng

What she ate: “A mountain of roasts” at Fook Kin, a new eatery co-owned by the Muttons

Yummy factor: We’re licking our lips at the sight of the golden crackling. We hear their roast duck, which is massaged with 18 herbs and spices, is “Fook Kin” good too. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

What they ate: Tau huay

Yummy factor: “Erm... I think I eat too fast,” said Michelle. No shame, Michelle - we’ve all been there. It is beancurd after all i.e. no chewing required.

Gerald Koh

What he ate: Cake baked by the Topless Baker at The Great Food Festival

Yummy factor: No offence but we’d pick the yummy beefcake over the cake.

Carrie Wong

What she drank: Tea macchiato

Yummy factor: “I feel overwhelmed by the foam,” said Carrie. One way to overcome it is to use a straw but we think sporting a foam mustache is way sexier.

Allan Wu and Bobby Tonelli

What they ate: The pair each had to demolish a massive Quad burger to get themselves on American chain Fatburger’s Wall of Fame

Yummy factor: Goodbye Allan’s abs! On a more serious note, the actor-host said the four-patty burger tasted as delicious as he remembered.

What he ate: Beer and a bite with Chew Chor Meng

Desmond Ng

What he ate: Dinner with his “bandmates” including Romeo Tan and Richie Koh

Yummy factor: We’re not sure about the “F4” label but from their smiles and empty plates, we can tell this gathering was a success.

Hong Ling

What she ate: Totoro dessert at The Great Food Festival

Yummy factor: You can’t really tell from the photo but beneath the layer of “sand” is a dense peanut butter cheesecake. We hope Hong Ling finished it before the ice “terrarium” turned it into quicksand.

Shane Pow and Jeffrey Xu

What they drank: Shane and Jeffrey toasted to their birthdays as well as their collective sadness that their respective squeezes (Kimberly Wang and Felicia Chin) were both overseas.

Yummy factor: We couldn't help chuckling at the video of the boys lamenting their predicament and bursting into song. On the bright side, alcohol solves everything. Cheers!

Kimberly Wang

What she ate: Unlike Gerald Koh who had a quite a spread of tasty delights, think eggs, waffles and sushi, Kim settled for just cereal
