Is there anyone out there who doesn’t want bigger eyes? To make your peepers a little brighter, check out Maybelline’s “Big Eyes” collection, which includes their double-ended mascara, four work-appropriate palettes, and – how adorable! – shimmery Big Eyes Love Bag Liner for achieving the aegyo sal effect. We love how this collection eliminates the hassle of using eyelid tape and falsies, making our morning routine totally fuss-free

Maybelline Big Eyes Shadow Palette, $20.90
Limited Edition: Big Eyes Love Bag Liner, $13.90

Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo
Three cheers for double-ended beauty products! Last month, Maybelline released its Fashion Brow Duo Shaper, a liner that combines the sharpness of a pencil with the softness of powder. Unlike lots of other pencils, which can give your eyebrows a weird tattooed look, this brow liner includes a powdered end for buffing and achieving a natural finish.
Fashion Brow Duo Sharper, $12.90. Available at Guardian, Watsons, SaSa, selected departmental stores and major supermarkets
Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow
Fans of Clio’s popular Gelpresso family will love the Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow, which can be applied directly to your eyelids without using brushes. The famously long-lasting Gelpresso formula keeps the colours intact and resistant to creases and sebum. Available in five luxurious colours (our pick: Bottoms Up, a sunkissed golden brown).
Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Shadow, $19.90 each, available at selected Watsons stores
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish
Gel manicures last a long time, but are expensive and damage your nails. At-home manicures are quick, cheap, and easy, but they barely last a week. What’s a girl to do?
The solution: Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel nail polish, which uses a two-step gel formula that can dry in natural light – not LED/UV exposure needed. In addition to lasting longer than regular nail polish, they can come off regular nail polish remover, thus eliminating the hassle of removing a gelish manicure. Available in 19 colours.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, $16.90 each, available at Watsons, Guardian, BHG, and John Little
L’Oreal Paris Excellence Fashion Ombre range
Who says you need to visit a salon (or grow out your roots) to achieve ombre hair? L’Oreal’s new Ombre range comes with a brush that helps you achieve DIY gradient hair in just 45 minutes. You can even experiment with the vividness of your hair colour – plus, it’s a good option if you want to try out ombre hair before committing to an expensive salon treatment.
L’Oreal Paris Excellence Fashion Ombre range, $18.90, available at selected Watsons stores
The indulgent: For days you just need to feel pretty
RMK Creamy Foundation N and RMK Glow Stick in EXO1 Champagne Gold
Not as young as you used to be? RMK’s Creamy Foundation was designed especially for mature skin with noticeable fine lines. In addition to giving a fresh, dewy finish, light-diffusing powders hide imperfections while healthy ingredients like Rice Brand Extract and Argan Oil hydrate the skin. Most intriguing of all is the “Stretch Film,” a cellophane-like filmy layer that evens out the texture of your skin for smoother coverage. Finish your base makeup by swiping the RMK Glow Stick highlighter across your cheekbones, and your complexion will look as luminous as ever.
RMK Creamy Foundation N, $82
RMK Glow Stick in EXO1 Champagne Gold, $33
Available at Isetan Scotts Level 1, Isetan Serangoon Central, and Takashimaya Department Store
Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows
Hey, makeup geeks: Make Up For Ever recently launched not one, not 10, but 210 new eye shadows last month! Now that’s what we call a treat. Each color costs $35, but you can also customise a duo or trio of them in your own palette. The range includes 110 colourful shades, 100 natural and nude shades, and five different finishes: matte, satiny, metallic, iridescent, and diamond.
Available in Sephora and MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Loft
Color Riche L’Extraordinaire from L’Oreal Paris Cosmetics
Super dramatic lips are all the rage right now, and what better way to jump on the trend with these bright new lippies from L’Oreal? These combine four precious oils (lotus flower oil, argan oil, camellia oil, and rosa muscat oil) for extra comfort and magnification of color. Available in 8 colours.
Color Riche L’Extraordinaire, $21.90 each, available in selected drugstores
New eyeliners and mascaras from Laneige
One thing that makes Korean products really special is how good they are at combining different makeup technologies. The best recent example of this is in the Laneige Gel Liquid Liner, which combines the soft texture of a gel liner with the convenience and precision of a liquid liner to create a near-perfect formula. The water-free “Melting Gel Formula” prevents flakiness, smudging, and only comes off with an oil-based eye makeup remover. Pair it up with the similarly water-less Jet Curling Mascara, and you’ll look like a K-Drama heroine in no time.
Laneige Gel Liquid Liner, $29
Laneige Jet Curling Mascara, $34
Available at all Laneige boutiques and counters
Bold and beautiful:
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro and Color Show Neon Lips
Don’t be intimidated by the Baby Lips’ electric shades – while this neon-coloured collection might look a little wild, it applies soft and sheer. And they smell so good, you’ll want to lick them right off. Using lip balm has never been this fun! The product comes in four colours and flavours: Pink Shock (Watermelon), Berry Bomb (Berry), Oh! Orange (Orange), and Fierce N Tangy (Lemon – no colour).
But for those who want a more vivid shock of colour, there’s Maybelline’s Color Show Neon Lips, which come in five bold shades at the totally affordable price of $9.90 each.
Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm, $5.90.
Maybelline Color Show Neon Lips, $9.90
Available at Guardian, Watsons, SaSa, selected departmental stores and major supermarkets
Clio Salon de Cara mascaras
We’re suckers for an innovative mascara, the Clio’s Salon de Cara range, which resembles miniature hair products, completely hits the spot. Each of the three mascaras in this line was inspired by a different hair tool. For extra volume, check out the Hair Roll Cara, which simulates hair rollers. For curling, check out the Roll Brush Cara, which simulates a round bristle hairbrush. And for long lashes, try the Finger Cara, which simulates a stylist’s hands.
Clio Salon de Cara mascaras, available at $24.90 each from selected Watsons stores.
New eyelashes from Dolly Wink
Japanese bestseller Dolly Wink not only set a new Guinness World Record in Singapore for “Largest number of people applying false eyelashes” last month (in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation), but it’s released four new lashes – two of which rank high on our must-have list. The Dolly Wink Lash No. 20 Glamorous Doll is a powerful half lash that adds volume on your outer lashes. Pair it up with the Dolly Wink Lash No. 21 Secret Girl lower lash for an extra boost of eyelash density with a natural feel.
