Irina Shayk has become a brand ambassador for L'Oréal.

The Russian beauty joins a long list of the world's most famous models and actresses as the new face of the cosmetics giant, and she's taken to social media to share her excitement at the new appointment.

In a post on her Instagram page, Irina said: "I'm so excited, and honored to announce that I am joining the @lorealparisofficial family, as their new international spokesperson!! (sic)"

Irina gave a huge "thank you" to L'Oréal's president Cyril Chapuy, as well as her agent Ali Kavoussi, for supporting her success, while she also praised fellow ambassadors Jennifer Lopez, Julianne Moore and Eva Longoria.

She said: "To stand beside the likes of @jlo @juliannemoore, @evalongoria and Jane Fonda.. All icons, of whom I've looked up to, is a dream come true. There are some moments you will never forget, and I want to thank @chapuyc (Cyril Chapuy) and the wonderful L'Oréal team from the bottom of my heart for what they've given me, and the beauty their brand inspires in so many. Not to mention, my everything @alikavoussi (Ali Kavoussi).. Thank you for fighting for me since day 1, and always believing in me through the good and bad. Now let the good times and selfies begin!! Love Iri (sic)"

Cyril Chapuy also took to Instagram and wrote on his talent management company The Lions' page that he was "thrilled" to have her on board.

He shared: "Welcome @irinashayk to the #lorealista family. So happy to finally have you in the team!

"Irina is an irresistible super woman who exudes glamour and elevates the definition of beauty to another level. From fashion designers to millions of social media fans and followers, she fascinates us all with her beauty and spirit, but also with her genuine sense of humanity and generosity.
