Zendaya Coleman wanted to create a shoe range which could be worn by "all women".
The 'Shake It Up' star is set to release her footwear collection, Daya by Zendaya, later this Spring and has revealed the focus has been on making sure there is a pair of shoes to suit everyone.
She said: "We kind of wanted to create classic silhouettes and things that I think everyone would be into while also making them a little bit different, [to add] a little bit of edge and our own personal touch.
"I think that everything that was cool becomes cool all over again so we do a lot of studying of people like Cher, people like Bianca Jagger ... We worked very hard and we put a lot of time, effort. There's so much detail. A lot of things that you don't like about like, 'Oh you need to pick that?' Like you need to pick the sole color, what shade of nude it's going to be. It's so, so detailed."
The 19-year-old actress and singer teamed up with Law Roach on the collection and the stylist has revealed the range will give her fans "something real and something tangible".
She added to PEOPLE magazine: "We wanted to do something real and something tangible for the people who love Zendaya, who follow her and want to have a small piece of her."
