Passenger boarding for an Air China flight from Seoul to Chongqing on Saturday (Feb 21) was reportedly delayed due to the late arrival of a flight attendant. The reason? She was shopping.
According to Chinese media reports, a netizen surnamed Lee posted on his microblog that passengers were kept waiting at the departure gate at Incheon International Airport as a member of the flight crew had not arrived.
Passengers were only allowed to board five minutes after the scheduled boarding time, when the female flight attendant turned up, hands full of shopping bags.
Lee’s post, which included a photo of the woman rushing to the gate as passengers waited in line to board, went viral.
On Saturday, a spokesman for the airline said it was mulling the appropriate action to take against the flight attendant, but later changed its story saying boarding had in fact began a minute ahead of schedule.
