A five-year-old girl was left traumatised after she found her missing pet dog cooked at a roast dog meat stall in Vietnam.
The girl, who reportedly lives in the countryside in north Vietnam, had raised Flower for three years and had been searching for it when it went missing.
A few days later, when she passed by a roast meat stall, she instantly recognised a dog lying on a street - and it was already cooked and ready to be served.
“That’s Flower,” she cried as she rushed to it. It is not clear how she knew for sure that that was her missing dog.
An image of the girl crying inconsolably beside a dog has since gone viral, and many have called for a ban on the consumption of dog meat which is considered a delicacy in some Asian countries including Vietnam, China and Korea.
