An Indonesian woman has become an Internet hit after putting up an ad to sell her property, along with an unusual bonus – her hand in marriage.
“Buy a house and marry the owner [terms and conditions apply]. For serious prospective buyers only. No negotiations,” said the online ad for the 523 square-metre two bedroom, two bathroom house in Sleman district in Yogyakarta. The bungalow, which comes with granite floors and a fish pond, has a price tag of 999 million rupiah (S$110,000).
The offer was the idea of real estate agent Dian Purna Dirgantara and homeowner Wina Lia went along with it as she was “looking for a husband anyway”.
“Every time I fall in love, it fails - it's happened twice now. My wish is to sell this house, but it would be great if I also meet my soulmate," said the 40-year-old single mother.
She has two conditions though: the buyer has to pay full price and be a devout Muslim who can be an imam for her family and can teach her how to properly wear a hijab, reported the Jakarta Post.
The ad has received overwhelming response, with “dozens or even hundreds” of inquiries. “[But] if someone just wants the house, they can have that,” Dian said.
