A man collapsed on an easyJet flight from heat exhaustion after wearing 12 layers of clothes.
James McElvar, 19, was initially refused entry onto the plane because he had too much hand luggage and a flight assistant insisted that he "bin the clothes or wear them."
He recalled: "I thought I was a goner and that I was having a heart attack."
James - who is a singer in a boy band - overheated after he piled on jeans, jumpers and jackets to avoid paying the £45 fee.
He told The Sun newspaper: "The woman said either one bag went in the hold or we weren't getting on. The rest of the band had gone through so I couldn't give them any of the clothes. I was told I'd either have to pay a £45 fee to get it on the plane, get the flight the next morning, bin the clothes, or wear them."
A statement from easyJet said that James had the option to check his extra bag for a fee, a standard part of their terms.
