Deer shooter accident hits woman

A man in Iowa faces a felony charge after officials have stated that he drunkenly fired a rifle from the front deck of a camper.

Lee Joseph Ryals was hoping to bag a deer but instead shot a woman in her home.

According to the local sheriff's office, a 73-year-old woman was cleaning her stove when she heard a loud noise.

She felt what she thought was paint to the back of her head and then saw she was heavily bleeding and drove herself to hospital.

Doctors later removed the bullet from the back of her head.

Lee is being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and reckless use of a firearm.

Conservation officers have also charged him with several other hunting violations.
