A woman found four bees inside her eye that were drinking her tears.
The 29-year-old woman Taiwanese patient - known simply as Ms He - went to the doctors complaining of an eye infection, however, upon further investigation, ophthalmologists at Fooyin University Hospital found sweat bees beneath her swollen eyelid, which were feeding from her tear ducts.
Speaking to CTS News, Dr Hung Chi-ting said: "I saw something that looked like insect legs, so I pulled them out under a microscope slowly, and one at a time without damaging their bodies."
Ms He had been pulling out weeds from her relative's grave - which is where the insects are known to nest - when she felt something fly into her eye.
The doctor explained that the woman was fortunate enough to have not been stung, which could have caused blindness.
